Why Volunteer

There are many great reasons to Volunteer.

Volunteering plays a crucial role in supporting the cultural, social, and economic fabric of local communities.

Volunteering can reduce stress, combat depression, keep you mentally stimulated, and provide a sense of purpose. While it’s true that the more you volunteer, the more benefits you’ll experience, volunteering does not have to involve a long-term commitment or take a huge amount of time out of your busy day

Some reasons people volunteer in their community include to:

  • Learn new skills
  • Share life experiences and skills
  • Make new friends
  • Give back to the community
  • Make a difference
  • Gain experience and contacts to help find paid employment
  • Build self-confidence
  • Have fun
  • Socialise
  • Stay active and engaged with the community

Volunteering can take on many forms and is diverse. A meaningful position can be found to suit everyone’s unique skills, abilities, knowledge, and interests.
