The Chambers Franklyn City of Joondalup Wolves are excited to announce the signing of Wolves Junior Kyah Nichols for the 2024 NBL1 West season!

Kyah has been on an impressive basketball journey throughout her junior years with the Wolfpack. Her dedication, skill and passion for the game is recognized amongst the best in the competition at her age. Most recently, Kyah was selected to represent WA in the 2024 U20 National Championships held in Ballarat.

During the 2023 WABL season, Kyah finished top 7 in scoring across all teams, with averages of 13.8 points a game over 21 total contests. Outside of scoring, Kyah’s length and athletic ability make her an imposing threat on defence, blocking shots and creating second chance opportunities for her team with rebounding prowess. At the conclusion of the 2023 WABL season, Kyah received her second consecutive WABL Player of the Year award for her outstanding efforts.

The Pack can look forward to seeing Kyah in Green with her teammates this NBL1 season, on our new show court at HBF Arena!

Women’s Head coach Jesse Pence had this to say about signing Kyah:

“Kyah is a great addition to our team with her versatility and potential. She represented Western Australia Metro in the recent U20 National Championships. We look forward to developing Kyah further in 2024 as she has had many great years with the Wolves and is graduating into our Senior Women’s Program. Her versatility and ability to defend 1-5 will be her calling cards!”

When asked for a statement on her recent signing, Kyah said:

“Wolves is my junior club so stepping up into the senior program has been a privilege. I’m excited to play with a new group of talented girls where they will help me strengthen my game. Also, with a crowd that always has an enormous amount of support and excitement which helps carry the energy as a group.”

Kyah Nichols joins teammates Dynn Leaupepe, Hannah Duncan, Jorjah Smith, Emma Clarke, Laniesha Paddon, Ella Thornton-Elliott, Sarah Toeaina and Darien Huff for the 2024 NBL1 West season.
