The Chambers Franklyn City of Joondalup Wolves are excited to announce the signing of NBL1 Central Champion Jorjah Smith for the 2024 NBL1 West season.

Jorjah is an established top level, sharpshooting guard who has achieved great things at both the NBL1 and international level. Jorjah has played for various NBL1 teams across the country, elevating each squad she’s been a part of in her 211-game career. In the 2022 season for the East Perth Eagles, Jorjah was the second leading scorer on the team with averages of 15.7 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists per game.

During the 2022/23 off season, Jorjah signed with the Oakland Wolves in England’s WBBL league, where she continued to be an effective scorer and rebounder. Jorjah was top 5 in the league for scoring, averaging 18.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.

In her championship winning season for the Norwood Flames in the NBL1 Central, Jorjah averaged 13.7 points and 4 rebounds per game. Jorjah and the Flames (Norwood) had the chance to win another championship at the NBL1 National Finals held at HBF Arena but came just one game shy of a Grand Final appearance.

Jorjah has re-signed with the Oakland Wolves for the 2023/24 season and will join our squad at the completion of the WBBL season. We look forward to seeing Jorjah bring her championship winning experience to the Wolfpack in green for 2024!

Women’s Head coach Jesse Pence had this to say about signing Jorjah Smith:

“Jorjah is an incredible player! Jorjah can drain threes as well as assist her teammates. Her experience in the West for several seasons, on top of her success in the NBL1 Central Champions, and currently in the UK, we couldn’t be more excited to add her to the mix. She is a 2-way menace and a proven commodity in our league. We can’t wait to add her to our group and see her ripping the nets at HBF.”

When Jorjah was asked what she’s most looking forward to this season, she said:

“Playing in front of the fans at HBF Arena with a talented and exciting team, I’m going to enjoy being home with my friends and family as a Wolf! Wolfpack fans can expect to see a hardworking, passionate player who loves to win. I like to play a fast and exciting game with my teammates, so hopefully some big shots and finals basketball at HBF Arena.”

Jorjah Smith joins teammates Emma Clarke, Laniesha Paddon, Ella Thornton-Elliott, Sarah Toeaina and Darien Huff for the 2024 NBL1 West season.
