Titan Interactive Wolves Appoint New Coach
The Wanneroo Basketball Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Phil Doherty as the new Head Coach of the Titan Interactive Wolves.
Following an exhaustive consideration and search for the "right fit" for the club, the Board considers Phil to be the ideal candidate to lead the Wolves as we continue to build on the culture of Wolfpack Basketball.
Phil has 8 years of professional basketball experience having played in China, Austria, and in the NBL for the Perth Wildcats and the Brisbane Bullets. In addition Phil won a Gold and a Silver medal representing Australia at the U20 and U23 FIBA World Championships, and in 2000 was the recipient of the Australian Sports Medal for Australian Sporting Achievement. Phil was an assistant coach with the Perry Lakes Hawks in season 2009, and his appointment at the Wolves will provide him with the opportunity to grow as a head coach within the league.
The board, players and support staff welceome Phil to the Wolfpack and look forward to what lays ahead for season 2010.
Players interested in attending a try-out for the Titan Interactive Wolves are invited to attend a session on Sunday 22 November at 10am at the Wanneroo Basketball Association. Prospective players should register their interest in attendance by emailing development@wolves.asn.au
