The Chambers Franklyn City of Joondalup Wolves are excited to announce the re-signing of Ben Geel for the 2024 NBL1 West season.

Ben is an explosive, 20-year-old Wolves Junior who has shown enormous growth in his last few years with the club. For his continued improvement in offensive and defensive outputs, Ben was awarded D-League MVP for the 2023 WABL Championship Men’s season where he averaged 22 points a game on great efficiency.

Standing at 6’5, Ben has the size and ability to dominate the paint, crash the boards and block shots at the rim. Wolfpack fans look forward to seeing Ben’s continued improvement during the upcoming 2024 NBL1 West season!

Men’s Head coach David Morrell had this to say about re-signing Ben:

“We are thrilled to return home grown talent, and Ben’s growth the last 2 seasons now has been amazing. He’s still only 20 years old, and he’s fast becoming a top tier athlete in the league that can play with speed and above the rim. But he also has skill and patience and can play balanced, below the rim basketball when the situation calls for it.

As a 6’5 wing with his athleticism, he brings a legitimate offensive threat, especially in transition, but also can be a great contributor on the defensive side of the ball as well, guarding multiple positions. His growth trajectory has been terrific the last 2 years, and I expect nothing less in 2024.

Ben had this to say about re-signing with the club:

“I’m happy to be back with the Wolfpack this season. I’m grateful to the coaching staff for expressing faith in my development and re-signing me. We have a strong experienced squad, a great coaching staff and the best supporters in the league. I’m really looking forward to stepping up and contributing to our on-court success this season.”

Ben joins teammates Christian Jurlina, Caleb Davis, Luca O’Brien, CJ Turnage and Jordan Wellsteed for the Joondalup Wolves in the upcoming 2024 NBL1 West season!
