I'm a self taught photographer based in Perth, Western Australia. Photography is my passion and my escape from the day to day. http://www.waynewrightphotography.net/

| Biography |
I'm sitting amongst the grass under a tree, it's still dark but I have been here for a while now and my eyes have adjusted to see the slight details and shadows. If I look up I can just see the sky through the gaps in the trees, the sun will rise soon, it has already started to colour the sky a subtle pink, slowly starting to side light the clouds. I'm not here to photograph the colours of the sun...rise this morning, I have a different shot in mind, I'm waiting for the sun to rise and start filtering through the wood, creating long shadows and highlight areas with beams of light. My camera is setup and mounted on the tripod ready to go, all that is left to do is wait and enjoy the changes in light and sounds. This is the best time of the day and wouldn't wish to be anywhere else, sure it's hard to get up and get out, but once you are where I am now it makes it all worth it. This is Landscape photography.
I have been into photography for some time now, for me it isn't just the taking of the photo its being out and about, slowing down and taking in what is all around us. I quite often go out without a camera looking for possible locations and Perth is not short of beautiful places to photograph. I live in Yanchep and will often get up at 3.30am to be somewhere like Cottesloe well before sunrise to capture the area in the "right light", I may return at sunset too. Quite often it isn't the light I was after so I will do it again and again until mother nature provides the lighting I had in my "mind's eye". When you love landscape photography you are constantly looking for compositions and watching the play of light on the landscapes. I love it! and Western Australia is a photographers wonderland.
